Two new PLC works for NYBBS 2017

Monday 20 March 2017

The Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) is delighted to announce that this year's summer course for the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) will be enhanced by two new compositions from the pen of the world-renowned Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

SBBA has commissioned 'PLC' to write two new works, one for the NYBBS Children's Band and another for the NYBBS Reserve Band. Paul will work with both bands and rehearse each piece at this summer's course at Strathallan in July and will conduct both works at the end-of-course concert.

SBBA Education Officer John Boax commented: "We are delighted that Paul has accepted our invitation to work at the NYBBS course again this year, he has been a great friend of the NYBBS family over many years. We are particularly excited at the prospect of two new compositions for the Children's and Reserve bands which we're sure will add tremendous value to the week in Strathallan."
