Whitburn bands set for concert

All four bands in the Whitburn organisation are to perform under one roof.

A PACKED evening of music making awaits in West Lothian as four bands in the Whitburn organisation prepare to share a concert.

Whitburn Band, conducted by Bede Williams, is one of the bands set to perform at the event in Brucefield Church on Friday, September 30 at 7pm. It will be joined by the Heartlands Band, led by Scott Kerr, Whitburn Youth Band under Caroline Farren and Whitburn Wee Band, with Charlie Farren at the helm.

The concert comes as Whitburn Band prepares for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain at London's Royal Albert Hall. Contest preparations are also in the advanced stages for the youth and wee bands, with a trip to the Innerleithen contest due the day after the concert.

Tickets cost £5 / £3 and are available on the door. Tea and coffee will be on sale.
