Preparatory and novice sections will feature on Saturday, November 26 with development, percussion, senior and premier contests the following day.

John Gilmour, contest controller of the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships, said: “As a flagship event for youth brass banding, the Scottish Youth Championships sees Perth become a bustling musical centre for young brass and percussion players, from those in the early stages of playing to performers with several years of experience.

“The deadline for entering is looming and it’s important for band leaders to make sure their young players don’t miss out.”

The event forms part of the Scottish Festival of Brass, with young performers also able to take advantages of education workshops and masterclasses.
