THE Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has announced that its resident photographer, Linda Cairns, is to step down.

Linda's involvement with the Scottish brass band scene stretches back five years and began with her photographing the West of Scotland Solo and Ensemble Contest.

Carrie Boax, SBBA president, commented: "It's with a heavy heart that Linda has made the decision to step down from her role as SBBA photographer.

"With her dedication and generous spirit, Linda epitomises a true volunteer in every sense of the word. She has captured concerts and competitions, helping preserve many wonderful memories for bandspeople of all ages, from the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland to the European Brass Band Championships.

"I wish Linda all the very best and look forward to seeing her at events in and around the Ayrshire area in the weeks and months ahead."
