Northern Counties Contest 2016: results

Bon-Accord Silver Band triumphed at the Northern Counties contest.

 

CELEBRATIONS are underway for Bon-Accord Silver Band after it triumphed at the 2016 Northern Counties Brass Band Association Open contest.

Conducted by Stephen Malcolm, the Aberdeen band came out on top at the contest on Saturday, May 28. Seven bands took part in the event at Loch Leven Community Campus, Kinross, with adjudicators John Boax and David Frame overseeing proceedings.

The date for the 2017 event has been confirmed as Saturday, May 27.

Best non NCBBA band: Shotts St Patrick's

Best percussion section: Bon-Accord

Granite City Comunity Brass, conducted by Lewis Catto, played as a 4b section band for adjudication purposes.

 

Best 1st section band: Granite City Brass

Best 2nd section  band: Arbroath Instrumental

Best 4th section band: Bon-Accord
