Besson Solo and Ensembles Edinburgh Area Qualifier Information

Venue: Prestonpans Primary School, Preston Road Prestonpans EH32 9EN (NB: NOT the Infant School in West Loan!!).
Date: 10th November 2012

Definitions. Junior. 12 Years and under - A player who is 12 years and under on 1st August 2012.

Intermediate 16 Years and under -A player who is 16 years and under on 1st August 2012

Youth . 21 Years and under- A player who is 21 Years and under 1st August 2012

Ensemble - Up to 5 brass players and a conductor (optional), representing either a school or registered band.

Time Limits: Junior, Intermediate & Youth Soloists
6 minutes. 1 point deducted for every complete period of 30 seconds over time.

Junior, Intermediate & Youth Ensembles.
8 minutes. 1 point deducted for every complete period of 30 seconds over time.

Time limits will be enforced in the finals. We would recommend that, except in extreme cases, in the qualifying rounds only a warning is given that action will be taken at the finals if a player or ensemble goes over time.

The first three in each section will qualify for the finals.
